Since opening our doors in 1990 as the recreation department at 1709 Bloor, LA CENTRE incorporated as an autonomous charity in 2000 and has grown to 4 service locations across Toronto’s west-end by fostering positive relationships with our members, funders and community partners, including Catholic Charities and Toronto Community Housing. These relationships enable our senior centre to work towards our vision of enhancing the quality of life for seniors 55 years of age and older.
As we celebrate over 30 years of service, LA CENTRE is proud to announce that we are entering a new era. Introducing Project Ignite Potential, renewing our vision and mission with a new look and feel!
PROJECT IGNITE POTENTIAL
While paying homage to our origins, LA CENTRE’s new operating name and logo reflect our commitment to our vision and mission to improve the quality of life for seniors 55 years of age and older through the delivery of active and engaging recreation and social activities. Our new logo, made up of triangles representing a windmill, symbolize life, energy, and activity. Our new vibrant colours are representative of warmth, optimism, and reliability.
Igniting Our Future
Over the last year, LA CENTRE has been laying the groundwork for our future goals for expansion and program diversification. Project Ignite Potential will energize our Centre’s culture and mission in the community. To launch LA CENTRE to the next level, Project Ignite Potential includes new social media and fundraising strategies to better engage with the community, share our stories, and innovate how we fundraise. And most importantly, our new website will be our Champion to engage with new stakeholders.
We invite you to explore our newly designed website today: www.lacentreforseniors.ca
With our new modern and contemporary look, newly custom-designed website, and marketing strategies, LA CENTRE is mobilizing its strategic goals for growth to better support our seniors in Toronto’s west-end.
LA CENTRE would like to express our gratitude for the continued support of our generous funders: Catholic Charities, Ministry of Seniors and Accessibility, and the City of Toronto. With their support, LA CENTRE is proud to continue our mission to deliver programming that invite seniors to get active, stay healthy, learn something new and stay connected.
