LA CENTRE for Active Seniors (LA CENTRE) – head-quartered at 55 Rankin Crescent (Bloor & Lansdowne) – vision is to enhance the quality of life for people aged 55 and over. LA CENTRE develops and delivers a variety of socially engaging programs that promote health, independence, and spirituality for people aged 55 and older in Toronto’s west end.
LA CENTRE is in the midst of executing it’s 2023-2026 Strategic Plan, which calls for doubling of sites and continued growth in the depth and breadth of programming.
This growth has required the expansion of the volunteer, advisory Board of Directors.
Best suited to our needs are professionals with experience in fundraising (identifying prospects, developing and executing funding drives) and finance (budgeting, forecasting, expense approvals).
The Executive Director will continue to lead execution, while these new Board members would provide insights and guidance into processes and best practices, based on their professional experience.
Requirements:
- Two-year term
- Board meets about once every month, either virtual or in-person (location varies)
- Time commitment of ~ 2 hours / month
- Members can also lead special committees and/or move to Executive Committee positions
